Polished Stainless Steel Sheet
Polished stainless steel sheets usually come in a mirror-like or brushed finish. The most common stainless steel grades that are used for polishing are 316 and 314. These sheets feature durability, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature resistance. Some projects that used polished stainless steel sheets are countertops, wall panels, architectural, and more applications.
Aside from that, stainless steel sheets that are polished are also characterized by good weldability, excellent formability, and machinability. It comes in different sizes and thicknesses. Custom cut dimensions are also available.

Polished Stainless Steel Sheet Projects
A polished stainless steel sheet has a shiny appearance. These materials are less prone to accumulate deposits making them less susceptible to damage. It can also be available in grained or satin finish. The polishing process can make the stainless steel sheet improves its consistency. Polished stainless steel is low-cost and practical to use.
The most commonly used stainless steel grades for polishing are 316, 316L, 304, 304L, and 201.
Dull-finished polished stainless steel sheets are characterized by their fair machinability, weldability, formability, and corrosion resistance properties. Commonly used grades for this are 316 and 304. These are available in different thicknesses from 0.9mm to 2mm and more. It is widely used for the fabrication of splashbacks, socket covers, plinths, kick plates, and more.
The first step to achieving a mirror-polished stainless steel sheet is removing the inox surface to create a flawless, smooth, and flat surface. The mirror-like finish can be achieved depending on the materials:
- Base surface finish
- Machine processes and parameters
Without proper maintenance, it may rust. This is common when you scratch the surface of polished stainless steel sheet.
Even if you polish stainless steel to mirror finish, it will still appear dark and dull compared to chrome plating. In fact, chrome plating guarantees shiner and brighter finish.
